Terms of Service
Last updated: August 18, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of this website (arunalaw.com) and the Vigil compliance platform, provided by Aruna Law Firm. By using them, you agree to these Terms.
The Anchor app has its own terms, covering its subscription, its document review step, and the limits of what it does. If you use Anchor, read the Anchor Terms and Conditions, which govern the app. Legal services are governed by your engagement agreement with the firm and by the Aruna Law Firm Terms of Service.
1. No attorney-client relationship from use alone
Using this website or these products does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship with Aruna Law Firm. That relationship is formed only through a written engagement agreement signed by both you and the firm. Until then, please do not send us confidential information you would not want disclosed.
2. Not legal advice
Content on this website, and the alerts, flags, and reminders inside these products, are general information and computed record keeping. They are not legal advice. Nothing in either product recommends that you file, wait, or take any action. Immigration outcomes depend on the specific facts of each case. For advice about your situation, request a consultation.
3. Accounts and accuracy
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep uploaded documents and details current. Tracking, alerts, and audits are only as reliable as the information entered.
- Employer administrators are responsible for designating appropriate personnel and for using access controls consistently with their own obligations to their employees.
4. What you upload
Upload only documents you own or are entitled to hold, or that you are authorised to process on behalf of the person they belong to. You keep ownership of what you upload. You grant Aruna Law Firm only the licence needed to run the service: to store the material, to process it so its fields and dates can be extracted, and to show it back to you and to the people your access settings permit.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use these products in violation of any law or regulation.
- Attempt to access another user's or another organisation's data without authorisation.
- Interfere with, probe, or disrupt the products or their security features.
- Upload malicious code, or content you do not have the right to share.
6. Fees
- Vigil is provided under the terms of the applicable engagement or subscription agreement, which sets out the fees.
- Anchor is a consumer subscription: 30 days free, then $5 per month. See the Anchor Terms and Conditions.
- Legal services are billed under the engagement agreement with the firm, separately from any software fee.
7. Our intellectual property
The software, this website, their contents, and the product names Vigil and Anchor are owned by Aruna Law Firm or its licensors. You retain all rights in the data and documents you upload.
8. Availability
We aim to keep these products working, but we do not guarantee that they will be available or uninterrupted. Features may change or be withdrawn. Alerts and reminders depend on your device, your settings, network availability, and third party delivery services, so do not treat a missing notification as evidence that a deadline has not arrived. You remain responsible for your own deadlines.
9. Ending your use
Vigil access ends as provided in the applicable agreement. An Anchor account can be deleted from inside the app, or requested at Delete your Anchor account. We may suspend or end access to an account used unlawfully, used to hold other people's documents without permission, or used to abuse the service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be noted here with the date at the top.
