Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy covers this website (arunalaw.com) and the Vigil compliance platform, both provided by Aruna Law Firm.
The Anchor app has its own, more specific policy describing exactly what it stores and what leaves our systems. If you use Anchor, read the Anchor Privacy Policy, which governs the app. Legal services provided by the firm are covered by the Aruna Law Firm Privacy Policy.
We are a law firm. The confidentiality of information entrusted to us is central to our profession, and we treat data submitted through these products with the same care.
1. What we collect
On this website
- Contact details you send us: your name, email address, company or firm, and your message, when you use the contact form or write to us.
- Basic request data kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address, page requested, and user agent, used to serve and secure the site.
- No advertising identifiers, no behavioural tracking, and no advertising.
In Vigil
- Employee and case records that an employer or its counsel enters or uploads: names, visa types, statuses, key dates, petitions, and supporting documents such as passports, visas, approval notices, I-94 records, and I-20s.
- Questionnaire responses submitted by candidates or employees through an employer-initiated immigration questionnaire.
- Account details for the people who use the platform, and a record of actions taken in it.
2. How we use it
- To operate the platform, including tracking document validity, statuses, and deadlines.
- To carry out the attorney review and compliance audits an engagement provides for.
- To send the alerts and reminders an employer or user has configured.
- To answer enquiries and arrange demos or consultations.
- To keep the products secure, and to meet legal and professional obligations.
3. Who it is shared with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:
- Within an employer engagement. If your employer uses Vigil, personnel it designates can see status level information about your case, such as visa type and key dates. Access controls limit what they see.
- Service providers. Vetted vendors for hosting and infrastructure, bound by confidentiality obligations and permitted to process data only on our instruction. When you use a form on this site, your message is delivered to us by our email provider, Resend, which handles it in transit and keeps a short delivery log. Form submissions are not stored by any third party form service.
- Legal requirements. Where required by law, regulation, or court order, subject to any applicable privilege or professional duty.
4. Attorney-client privilege
Information exchanged within an active attorney-client engagement is handled under the professional responsibility rules that govern our practice. Using this website or these products does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. See the Terms of Service.
5. Security
We use industry standard safeguards for information in transit and at rest, including encryption, access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, and we ask you to protect your own account credentials.
6. How long we keep it
For as long as needed to operate the products, to meet the recordkeeping obligations that apply to law firms, and to comply with law. Deletion of an Anchor account is described in the Anchor Privacy Policy, and can be requested at Delete your Anchor account.
7. Your choices
- You can ask for a copy of, correction to, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, subject to the professional obligations above.
- Employees whose records sit in an employer's Vigil account should raise access questions with that employer as well as with us, because the employer decides who inside the organisation may see them.
- You can adjust or turn off non-critical notifications in the product that sends them.
8. Children
These products are not directed at children and are not intended for anyone under 18.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update it here and change the date at the top.
